DepreciationPro

Switching from Sage Fixed Assets

Sage is built for 10,000-asset enterprise shops.

If your firm runs 100 to 1,000 assets per client, you’re paying for complexity you don’t need. DepreciationPro gives you the engine without the implementation project.

Sage is great. For someone else.

Sage Fixed Assets was built for mid-to-large enterprises and government finance teams. 50+ depreciation methods. 20 books. 300,000 IRS rule mappings. RFID barcode scanners and "Project Snapshot" CIP modules.

It’s also "overly complex for organizations with under 100 assets," to use Sage’s own market positioning. The implementation is a project. The pricing is a custom quote. The training curve is real.

Most small and mid-size CPA firms don’t need any of that. You need MACRS, Section 179, bonus, all 50 states, GAAP book, and Form 4562 in a tool you can open in a browser this afternoon. That’s what DepreciationPro is.

Working depreciation this afternoon, not next quarter.

AI-cleaned imports, self-serve onboarding, a free first client, and cloud-native access from any browser.

Import flow

Sage method codes normalize on the way in.

DepreciationPro’s AI maps your Sage column headers automatically and normalizes 75+ depreciation method codes from 160+ source variations. You preview every change before committing the import.

Self-serve onboarding

Sign up, import, run.

Create your firm account, drop the first client’s asset register into the import flow, and start running depreciation the same afternoon. No implementation kickoff, no training tier to commit to. We’re available when you want help, without slowing you down.

Free to start

Try the product before talking to us.

Your first client, entity, and return are free, with no credit card and no expiration. Run a real client through the import, side-by-side depreciation, and Form 4562 review on your own time. Talk to us only if you want to.

Cloud-native

Open the browser. Sign in. Done.

DepreciationPro runs in the browser, with no installation on user machines, no database to provision, and no network-edition prerequisites. Every team member signs in from any office, on any machine, on the same firm-shared client data.

For the firm with mixed tax software

Exports to every major tax-prep tool.

Most CPA firms don’t run one tax-prep tool across all clients. Some returns go to UltraTax CS, some to CCH ProSystem fx, some to Lacerte, ProSeries, or Drake depending on the engagement. Sage’s tightest integration is with its own Sage Intacct ecosystem. DepreciationPro exports to all five.

In DepreciationPro

DepreciationPro exports Form 4562 and 4797 data directly to UltraTax CS, CCH ProSystem fx, Lacerte, ProSeries, and Drake. The depreciation schedule travels into whichever tax-prep tool your team uses today, without re-keying.

Your migration path

One client. Less than an hour. No implementation project.

1

Export the asset register from Sage

Sage exports a flat asset list to Excel. Pick which book you want as your source of truth, typically Tax, and export.

2

Drop the file into DepreciationPro

Our AI maps your columns automatically. Sage method codes normalize against our library of 75+ formats and 160+ source variations. You spend more time reviewing the mapping than running the import.

3

Run tax and GAAP side by side

Sage runs many books. Most CPA firms only need Tax and GAAP. Both are in DepreciationPro out of the box, with temporary difference tracking for ASC 740.

4

Export to your tax software

One-click export to UltraTax CS, CCH ProSystem fx, Lacerte, ProSeries, or Drake. Set the firm preference once.

Common questions

Does switching from Sage mean an implementation project?

No. DepreciationPro is self-serve. You create your firm account, import the first client’s asset register, and run depreciation the same afternoon. There’s no implementation team to schedule, no Gold or Silver support tier to commit to, and no training program before you can use it.

How does the import handle Sage’s multiple books?

Sage runs up to 20 books per entity. Most CPA firms only need Tax and GAAP. Both are in DepreciationPro out of the box, with temporary difference tracking for ASC 740. Pick which Sage book you want as your source of truth on import, typically Tax.

What happens to prior-year accumulated depreciation?

Include it as columns when you import the Sage export: beginning accumulated, prior bonus, prior 179. DepreciationPro starts from the basis you give it. We don’t recompute history. We continue it.

How long does the tie-out take on the first client?

Under an hour when the Sage export is clean and prior-year accumulated depreciation is included. Calculation transparency explains any delta line by line, so reviewers can answer “why is this number different” instead of guessing.

Right-sized for small CPA firms.
